Le Grippaults residencies are open to all artistic disciplines and scientists, and offer a unique opportunity to work in the serene French countryside for one or two weeks. Each week accommodates eight participants, providing private rooms with bathrooms and workspaces, including desks, easels, and a grand piano. In this 5-day masterclass with renowned Dutch portrait painter Rogier Willems, we start by exploring the human body through sketches, technical exercises, and focused studies with a professional model. The next two days focus on figure painting with a two-day pose. The final days concentrate on portrait painting, one portrait per day. Key aspects include tone, construction, composition, brushwork, and developing your personal style, encouraging a loose, expressive approach. The course suits painters with some experience and is in English and Dutch.

After a year’s absence, Le Grippault’s Music Weekend will return in 2026! We are very happy to announce the fourth edition of this mini music and musical theatre festival. With an amazing line up, we will prepare two shows this year: one in our forest and one on location in Richelieu. Mark Friday 22 and Saturday 23 May in your calendar. More information coming soon.

Our 3D Bookclub with Maria Kraakman, Vincent van der Valk en Jeroen De Man Bergen will be back. Participants all read the same book before coming to Le Grippault.
