Each year, in summer and winter, you have the opportunity to join a residency at Le Grippault. You might be a theatre-maker, writer, composer, musician, visual artist, filmmaker, or (applied) scientist. For one or two weeks, you will work in a calm yet creatively charged environment, focusing on your own research or project that connects with our social and artistic vision and with the surrounding landscape. During your stay, you will live alongside other residents in a close-knit community. You will work both independently and collaboratively keeping an open and inquisitive eye on artistic, social, and ecological questions, and on the (theatre of) nature itself.

The projects you develop here are often part of a longer research trajectory: the planting of a seed, a period of growth, or a stage of reflection and maintenance. A change of environment — stepping away from daily routines, leaving the city, working in the countryside — gives you the chance to approach your work in new ways. Living and exchanging ideas with makers and researchers from other disciplines and backgrounds can spark fresh perspectives and inspiration. You are responsible for the direction of your own project. We take a supportive rather than a directive role: we listen, advise when you ask, and provide tailored support by connecting you with local and regional people and institutions.
